Inspired by the mysterious symbolism of the tarot deck and the poetic expanse of California’s Joshua Tree National Park, The Queen of Cups project required a sparkling, unconventional approach to communicate the singular product’s story. A soothing wipe for the lips that exfoliates and hydrates using clean ingredients, it is made in the USA and completely biodegradable. Approached by the founders, Alana and Scott, Skaggs designed a one-page, scrolling, e-commerce site that reflects the quirky, natural, and multi-faceted brand’s personality. Playfully combining decoupage images of the desert and tarot cards along with a colorful, striped border that serves as a visual anchor, the site is fun, engaging, and a smidge esoteric, as befits a brand named after the most intuitive and compassionate card in the tarot deck.
